Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These terms apply to your use of this website and to consulting services provided by Big J' Bakeries Consulting. By using the site or engaging us, you agree to them. Nothing here limits your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 (FCCPA) or other Nigerian law.
1. Our services
We provide bakery business consulting: diagnostics, costing, operations, procurement systems, training, sales systems, technology setup and transition support. We design systems and train your team; your team runs them. We do not run your marketing, buy on your behalf or acquire customers for you unless agreed in writing.
2. Engagements and proposals
Every paid engagement starts with a written proposal or engagement letter setting out scope, deliverables, timeline, fees and payment terms. If anything in that document conflicts with these terms, the engagement letter applies.
3. Fees and payment
- Fees are quoted in Naira (₦) and are exclusive of VAT unless stated. VAT is charged where applicable under the Value Added Tax Act.
- We will provide account details for payment by bank transfer. Please only pay into accounts we confirm in writing.
- Unless agreed otherwise, a deposit is due before work starts and the balance on delivery of findings.
- Work may pause if invoices remain unpaid 14 days after the due date.
4. Rescheduling and cancellation
You may reschedule a site visit with at least 48 hours' notice. If you cancel after work has begun, you pay for work already done and non-refundable costs (such as travel) incurred. Any refunds are paid within 14 days.
5. Your responsibilities
Results depend on accurate records and on your team applying the agreed systems. You agree to give us honest information, reasonable access to your premises and staff, and to keep your team's daily logs during a Diagnostic.
6. No guaranteed results
We give professional advice based on the information you provide. We do not guarantee any particular profit, sales or savings figure. Any guarantee will only apply if it is written into your engagement letter.
7. Confidentiality
We keep your business information confidential and use it only to deliver our work. You agree to keep our templates, tools and methods (including the One-Bag Trace materials) for use in your own bakery only.
8. Intellectual property
Reports, costing sheets and SOPs we prepare for you are licensed to your bakery for its own use once paid for. We keep ownership of our underlying methods, templates, software and website content, which are protected under the Copyright Act 2022.
9. Bakers pool and referrals
We introduce bakers to bakeries and bakeries to partner schools in good faith, but we are not the employer of any baker placed and do not guarantee employment or training outcomes. Hiring decisions, contracts and pay are between the baker and the bakery, subject to the Labour Act.
10. Equipment and resale
Where we help sell equipment or a bakery, we act as a facilitator. Condition, title and warranties are the seller's responsibility unless we state otherwise in writing.
11. Website use
The Bakery Profit Score is a general guide, not financial advice. Don't misuse the site, submit false information or attempt to access data you're not authorised to see.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent Nigerian law allows, our total liability for any engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or anything that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Privacy
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. See our privacy policy.
14. Complaints and disputes
Please contact us first on WhatsApp (+234 802 306 0062) and we will try to resolve it within 14 days. If not resolved, either party may refer the dispute to mediation, including at the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, before going to court. You may also contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you engage us applies to that engagement.
