Mr Dele Obakemi

Founder and Lead Consultant

Dele's journey in the Nigerian baking industry spans over four decades, rooted in hands-on mastery and practical floor experience. He began his baking journey in 1979 as an apprentice at 56 Alafia Street, Amukoko, before honing his skills at 54 Clark Street working with seasoned caterers. Moving up the ranks from a miller to a professional baker, he launched his independent baking firm on January 7, 1991, at 10 Global Street, Isolo.

Over the years, Dele has combined decades of empirical floor experience with formal continuous education, participating in specialised training programmes at institutions like Lagos State University (LASU) and Mama Gold Baking School.

Having managed production floors in Lagos and advised owner-run bakeries across Ibadan, Abeokuta and Abuja, Dele founded Big J' Bakeries Consulting out of a commitment to solve a recurring industry pain point: seeing hardworking bakers struggle for years without knowing whether their business is truly making money. Today, he leverages his deep expertise in production lines, ingredient placement and factory workflow to help Nigerian bakeries become profitable and run seamlessly without the owner.

We make Nigerian bakeries profitable and able to run without the owner.

Our story

A more organised bakery is a stronger bakery.

Big J' Bakeries Consulting began with one question from a bakery owner: "We sell out every day, so where is the money going?" Answering it meant following a single bag of flour from the store to the customer. That method became the One-Bag Trace, and it is still how every engagement starts.
